UKAS Accredited testing
Send your water samples - minimum volume recommended: 1 Litre - to South East Laboratories Ltd., and we will assess the presence/absence and concentration of Legionella in your systems.
Our accredited laboratory ensures precise and accurate legionella counts for clients in the building services sector providing water control monitoring and risk assessments, or for those directly responsible for risk management procedures for Legionella in their properties or facilities.
Legionnaires’ disease and Pontiac Fever
Legionnaires’ disease, a severe pneumonia, is a respiratory infection caused by Legionella pneumophila. Other Legionella species could be a potential health risk as well (Pontiac fever). Moreover, they are an indicator of potential presence of Legionella pneumophila.
The infection is consequence of inhalation of water aerosols carrying the bacteria. Any water system could be a source of Legionella given the right conditions (dead legs, stagnant water, hot temperature between 25-45 degrees Celsius). Showers and taps are between the most common sources of Legionella infections
Legionella Testing and the Law
Protect your business and home. Reduce the risk of Legionella contamination by regularly monitoring your water systems. Remember, it is a legal requirement for all business in UK to have a scheduled risk assessment for Legionella presence in their water systems.
